Getting Ready For Oral Examination

Oral examination is a very important step which all of our patients complete before diagnosis. It is to observe the conditions of the teeth and jaws and then organize a treatment plan that leads to a successful treatment result... a super shiny smile!

Series of accurate measurements are taken during the examination, such as X-rays of your head, face, teeth, upper jaw and lower jaw, impression making for a pre-treatment cast, checking for cavities, gum infection, the tooth root and jaw movement, and oral muscle examination, if needed. The entire examination will be finish in about one hour.

In order to complete the examination smoothly, please remember the following:

• Please dress in simple clothes.
• Please take off your earrings, hairpins and necklaces when taking X-rays.
• Please brush your teeth thoroughly before the examination. It is important that your teeth are clean in impression making.

The X-ray used at our clinic is digital teleradiography produced by Sirona (Siemens & Helske). The dose reduction amounts to 50% to 70% compared with film/foil combinations of the sensitivity S=250, assuring our patients with complete safety.
